Purpose and policy of Research.fi

Research.fi contains statistical data and articles about Finnish technology and science. The service is designed to cater for the needs of decision-making, monitoring and evaluation of Finnish science and technology.

The tables and figures are based on the data compilation systems of the various partners. Since data are not available on all areas, some information is given in the text form. Links to the most important documents, publications, statistics etc. are given in all areas.

The tables and figures present the most recent statistical data available. As a rule, the statistics are updated annually. The data are mainly given from 1991 onwards. Older statistics are accessible through the links. The figures present data mainly from the Nordic countries, Japan, the USA, as well as the EU mean. Data on other countries can be found in the OECD MSTI tables.

Joint partners

Research.fi is a service jointly provided by different Finnish science and technology authorities: Ministry of Trade and Industry; Ministry of Education; Academy of Finland; Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation (Tekes); Science and Technology Policy Council; Finnish universities; CSC - the Finnish IT center for science; and Statistics Finland. The service providers take responsibility for the correctness of the data.

Committee for Public Information coordinates the service. Finnish center for high-performance computing and networking CSC and Hexagon IT Oy are responsible for the technical implementation and maintenance of the service.
