Government budget appropriations or outlays on research and development (GBAORD) for 2012 amount to EUR 2.010 billion. Decrease from the previous year is EUR 55 million. Government R&D expenditure as a proportion of overall government spending exclusive of debt servicing stands at 4.0 per cent. The share of public R&D funding of GDP is 1.0 per cent.
